XFC 18 took place this past Friday night on HDNet in Nashville, Tennessee. UFC veteran John Salter saw his three-fight winstreak come to surprising end when he was caught in a guillotine choke after looking strong in the first round. Bellator veteran Scott Barrett managed to edge Strikeforce veteran Gabriel Salinas-Jones by split decision. The most impressive performance on the night came from women's fighter Heather Jo Clark. Clark showed strong grappling skills as she avoided an armbar perfectly before taking her opponent's, Avery Vilche, back and submitting her by rear-naked choke.
