Mousasi and Mizuno with submission wins at DREAM.15

Mousasi and Mizuno with submission wins at DREAM.15

Gegard Mousasi rebounded from his Strikeforce loss to "King Mo" Lawal with a quick submission over Jake O'Brien in the opening round of the DREAM light heavyweight grand prix in Japan. O'Brien, a collegiate wrestler at Purdue University, shot in on Mousasi, who caught him in a standing guillotine. O'Brien went limp at 0:31 in the first round, and the referee called the end of the fight.

O'Brien came into the fight nearly 20 pounds overweight, so the fight was caught at a catchweight, and O'Brien forfeited 10 percent of his purse to Mousasi.

Manhoef still has no ground game

Melvin Manhoef is a striker without a ground game, and that fact lost him a bout at DREAM.15. Tatsuya Mizuno won with a Kimura in the first round. Manhoef knocked Mizuno to the ground early, but couldn't finish the fight, and found himself in trouble as the fight went to the ground. Mizuno pushed Manhoef through the ropes, then pulled his arm to complete the bout at 7:38 in the first round.

This is Manhoef's second loss in a row, as he was knocked out by Robbie Lawler in December at Strikeforce.
