Strikeforce's Three Stars: Werdum, Werdum and Werdum

Strikeforce's Three Stars: Werdum, Werdum and Werdum

OK, not all three star spots go to Fabricio Werdum for beating one of the best fighters to ever put on the fingerless gloves, but his place in MMA's history is clear.

No. 1 star -- Fabricio Werdum: Duh. Werdum beat Fedor Emelianenko by submission in the first round of their bout, giving Fedor his first loss in 10 years. He did this by executing the perfect strategy, baiting Fedor into Werdum's guard and using his world-class jiu-jitsu to end the fight. Next up? Strikeforce heavyweight champ Alistair Overeem.

No. 2 star -- Cung Le: This time, Le wasn't going to let Scott Smith to come back to knock him out in the final moments of their bout. A newly-focused, well-conditioned Le hammered Smith with kicks until Le ended the bout with a body kick in the second round. After Le finishes the box of cookies that he abstained from during training camp, he will likely have a spot in the Strikeforce middleweight tournament.

No. 3 star -- Cristiane "Cyborg" Santos: Heading into the fight, Cyborg's opponent, Jan Finney, seemed to have the nickname "lightly-regarded," considering how often that modifier was used to describe Finney. However, Finney showed herself to be a tough woman who wouldn't quit. In turn, Santos didn't relent, finally finishing off Finney in the second round with a knee to the body. Santos will now face Erin Toughill, a fighter who will match up well with Cyborg's size and strength.

Who are your three stars from the weekend? Any honorable or dishonorable mentions from the four-fight card? Tell us in the comments.
