Phillip Soven rode exceptionally well this past weekend at the 51st Masters Wakeboard Tournament. Phillip faced Rusty Malinoski and brother Bob Soven in the Pro Mens Finals and was able to ride away to victory with an impressive run. Also in the final Danny Harf would not be able to put it together taking home forth. Bob Soven making his 3rd Pro Final this year would leave it to his brother to take home the win for the Soven family.
Rusty Malinoski recently beat Phillip at the Acworth,GA Pro tour stop and Phillip wanted to come back strong beating out Rusty for the win. This will be Phillip's 3rd Master's title and looks like we will be seeing a strong showing from Phillip this year with 2 finals in a month.
Where was Harley Clifford? With everyone thinking Harley just could not be beat this year it looks like Harley has been beaten. Although Masters is not a pro tour stop it is still a highly coveted award. Harley said on Twitter that he had some common falls and was heading home to train harder to never let that happen again. I am expecting to see an even more focused Harley at the next Pro Tour Stop.
Brandon Thomas a Natuique boat's team rider would win his first pro contest since 2006 beating out Brian Grubb, Stu Shinn and Reed Hansen behind the boat.
